Starbucks Global Month of Service

As part of our 40th anniversary, Starbucks will host a global month of service to celebrate our ongoing commitment to community service. Throughout the month of April, we will invite partners and customers from around the world to join together and, as change makers, take action to make a lasting, positive impact in the neighborhoods where they live and work.

Our goal is to provide more than 2,000 community service opportunities around the world and contribute 200,000 total hours of service. Projects can fulfill the needs that exist within your community, from building a green neighborhood in Shanghai to transforming a local park in Los Angeles. These volunteer hours will also contribute to Starbucks™ Shared Planet™ goal of 1 million hours of community service per year by 2015.

To honor and thank partners and customers globally for their volunteer efforts, we will also host six marquee events—three in the U.S. and three internationally: London— April 5; Los Angeles—April 9; Toronto—April 16; New York—April 25; Shanghai—April 25; and Seattle—April 30.

The global month of service is a key component of our 40th Anniversary and exemplifies how we strive to live our values as a company, every day. This is our opportunity to embrace our legacy of being a force for positive change, and set an even higher standard for the next 40 years. April is just the beginning. We encourage you to play an active role in making a difference and being a part of this movement.

Starbucks partners (employees) can join or lead community service projects for the global month of service by visiting Starbucks Community Service website at http://community.starbucks.com.
